The 2019 Ford Mustang GT is no stranger to performance. Visually, the PP2 is subtle but purposeful. The most noticeable difference is the aggressive front splitter, borrowed from Fords performance catalog and designed to increase downforce at high speeds. A low-profile rear spoiler complements the look, while the wide tire stance fills out the wheel wells in a way that hints at its corner-carving potential. Inside, the cabin remains largely unchanged from the standard GT, aside from the Recaro sport seats and the SYNC 3 infotainment system. However, to keep weight and complexity down, certain comfort features like adaptive cruise control and heated steering wheels were not available with the PP2 a clear signal that this car was built with focus.

On the road or better yet, the track the 2019 Mustang GT PP2 transforms the character of the car. Turn-in is sharper, grip is seemingly endless on warm pavement, and high-speed stability is significantly improved over the base GT or even the PP1. The steering feels more connected, and the entire car communicates with the driver in a way that inspires confidence, lap after lap. Theres a level of balance here that Mustang fans werent used to in factory form its almost European in its precision but still very much American in its attitude and soundtrack.

In many ways, the 2019 Mustang GT with Performance Package Level 2 represents a high-water mark for the S550-generation Mustang. Its rare, too offered only for a limited time and only with the manual fastback GT which has made it increasingly desirable on the used market. It delivers Shelby-like grip and handling in a more affordable, factory-backed package, giving enthusiasts a truly track-capable car that doesnt carry the Shelby nameplate or price tag.

For those who appreciate pure driving engagement, the 2019 Mustang GT PP2 might just be one of the best-kept secrets in modern muscle.
