Vehicle Description

Now Available! - 1984 Ferrari 400i PRICED IN USD - 7,303 miles - Marianetti Motors presents this collector-grade, low-mileage 1984 Ferrari 400i finished in Grigio Metallizzato exterior over a Tabacco Leather interior. This example stands out not only for its stunning specification but also for its rarity. Produced from 1979 to 1985, the 400i was offered with both automatic and manual transmissions, with just 422 GT (manual) versions built, making this example especially desirable for collectors. In 1982, the 400i received significant updates, including new camshaft profiles and exhaust headers raising output to 315 hp, a refreshed interior with revised upholstery and switchgear, and subtle exterior refinements like a narrower grille, new side mirrors which includes small Ferrari shields, and fog lamps were fitted in the bumper as well. Were proud to offer this well-documented Ferrari 400i, a car with a rich history and a lineup of distinguished owners. Originally delivered through Ferrari of Houston in 1984, this example was first sold on September 6th of that year to Paul Barnhart Jr., who kept the car until January 1986. At that point, it was returned to Ferrari of Houston with just 3,303 miles on the odometer. The dealership held onto the car for over two years before selling it to C. Mark Jordan, designer of the original Mazda MX-5 and son of legendary GM design chief Chuck Jordan. Mr. Jordan owned the 400i for nearly six years before selling it in April 1992 to Ron Tonkin Gran Turismo, a highly regarded Ferrari dealership in the U.S., with the car showing only 4,970 miles. Soon after, the 400i found its way into the hands of Keith E. Crain, publisher of Automotive News and Autoweek, whose media legacy spans 54 brands across 13 locations. Mr. Crain, a 2014 inductee into the Automotive Hall of Fame, kept the vehicle for many years. In June 2017, the car was acquired by Jeff and Joe Cauley, owners of Cauley Ferrari of Detroit. Under their care, it received a full service in February 2018, along with Ferrari Classiche Certification. The Official Red Book now accompanies the vehicle. In January 2021, the car was acquired by a well-known private collector who kept it in his collection over the next four years. In early 2025, we had the opportunity to add this exceptional 400i to our collection. Upon arrival, the car underwent a comprehensive inspection to ensure it remained in top mechanical shape. We had carried out a full service, including a new battery, fresh oil and filter, replacement of spark plugs, new front upper ball joints, and repair of the A/C system. These updates were done to ensure the car not only continues to present beautifully, but also performs as it should. Everything comes with the car, including the Tool Kit, Jack Kit, and Owner's Pouch with Books/Manuals. This 400i stands as a remarkable piece of Ferrari history. - For more info on this vehicle, please contact us. - Paint Protection Film and Ceramic Coating available in house. - Marianetti Motors Inc. 6260 Highway 7, Unit 6 Woodbridge, Ontario L4H 4G3
